Darwin Postcard #4
Chaz Mostert looks right at home in a side street in downtown Darwin.
The vivid graffiti gallery is a perfect backdrop for the Moz-dog as he prepares for his 100th Supercars start at Hidden Valley.
“I’m having a bit of down-time. What better place than somewhere with some cool street art?”, Mostert tells Race News as he collects coffee for himself and his Tickford crew.
“It’s really cool to walk down the side alleys and see all the new art. People’s imagination is out of this world.
“What better place to have some fun? There are artists that come from plenty of places to do their work.”
The scene sits well with Mostert’s designer stubble, his black-on-yellow helmet and his latest signature sunglasses from Oakley.
Mostert knows he is turning 100 in the Top End but he’s not happy about any sort of celebration.
“I think numbers should be banned,” he says.
“It makes me feel old and I realise I haven’t achieved a lot in 100 rounds. So I’m looking forward to the next 100 and what I can do.”
