Two new winners in Super2. Ben Gommersall is the breakout star of the Super2 season opener at the Sydney 500, as the Toyota 86 graduate sits third in the title standings after his first Super2 weekend. Cam McLeod and Jordyn Sinni each broke through for a landmark win in Sydney, while defending champion Zach Bates could only manage seventh for the weekend at Eggleston Motorsport.

Jones on his own. The Carrera Cup weekend was a private playground for Harri Jones, who swept both races at the start of the season. Oscar Targett showed he is looking for the next step in his career, finishing the weekend equal on points with Dylan O'Keefe and Bayley Hall in second place after a storming drive to the runner-up spot on Sunday.

Power is the pace maker: The big pre-season test for IndyCar runners at Sebring in Florida went (very) well for Team Penske, as Will Power and Josef Newgarden topped the practice times. Pato O'Ward was best of the rest as Scott McLaughlin only managed to clock in at 24th. Australian coverage of the IndyCar series will continue on STAN Sport in season 2025, with mid-week race highlights promised through the Nine Network.

Loeb in the desert: He retired from the Dakar after a rollover but Sebastian Loeb is eager to push for off-road wins with Dacia. Next up is Abu Dhabi, where he will be back in the Sandrider and facing a challenge that is all about speed over and through the sand dunes.

Back to Baja: Toby Price and Paul Weel will continue their attack on SCORE off-road racing in the USA through 2025. The pair are the first entry for the San Felipe 250, on the first weekend in April, using the Trophy Truck they took to victory in the Baja 500 in 2025.

The Gold Star is back: Australia's top driver of season 2025, not just the Supercars champion, will get special recognition from Motorsport Australia. It is reviving the Gold Star Award, traditionally awarded to the country's top single-seater racer, with a modern twist. Points will be awarded to a wide range of categories, from Formula One and IndyCar down through Supercars and NASCAR to Carrera Cup and Formula 4.
