Paul Morris is back to shake things up in V8 SuperUtes with a full-season campaign in 2025 alongside Scotty Taylor.
He might be closing fast on 60, but Morris has lost none of his fire.
"I still want to go racing. I had a test and it got my racing brain engaged and thinking again," Morris told Race.news
"It's given me some purpose, and there are some quality dudes, proper racers, who are a bit hard-core. It should be fun.
"And it’s not so fast that I’m going to frighten myself.”
Morris has not done a full season of racing since 2017, when he won the world title in Stadium Super Trucks. Before that it was Super2 in 2015.
Instead, he has guested in GT and production cars while working hard as a driver coach and helping his son Nash work his way up through the junior categories to a full Super2 season in 2025.

He was lured into the V8 SuperUtes by Scott Taylor, who is already running a Ford Ranger in the category, with a private test at Queensland Raceway.
"When I turned up at QR it was immaculately presented. He really baited the hook. He even put the name of my dog, Buddy, down the side of the truck," Morris said.
"He took it seriously. He bought another truck and gave me a test drive. It was challenging and it felt like a real race car."
Morris was already a fan of the comeback category, which improved rapidly through season 2024 and is set for a solid season in 2025 including spots on the Supercars support program.
“I enjoy the category, the people in it, and the way it’s run. It’s a bit of an f-wit free zone.
"I admire what Luke Sieders has done. He has rolled up his sleeves and found a solution. The category is fit for purpose for the people who want to be in it."

Morris said his commitment to V8 SuperUtes will have plenty of pay-off.
"The more I can active at this age, 57, the better. It’s given me some purpose," he said.
“It’s good for Scotty to have a team mate and I reckon I can coach him a bit. Together we can get the maximum out of it.”
Morris said he has enjoyed working over recent years with the trucking magnate, who has spread his efforts around many areas of motorsport including his backing of Nash.
"Scotty is good to work with. He puts a lot into it."

Morris is not getting carried away with his V8 SuperUtes ambition and is not talking about a championship challenge. But he is intending to go all-in as usual.
"I want to have fun. And it’s a challenge," he said.
"I think I can get into the Top 10 pretty easily, but to get into the Top 5 I’ll have to do some work. Which is good.”
